August 22, 2015 Solid day of Fluking on Saturday. Kayaked the bay and around the bridges in the Hamptons with Jeff T and met up with Buoy Bob and Rich. What a day! Together, Jeff and I probably landed a solid 38 fluke plus. I know the other guys scored as well and most of all of our fish were caught and released. Jeff also caught some blues and bass. Speaking of, the bass bite was fast and furious and over by 630am. The fluke bite lasted as long as we were out there. Bucktail and Gulps were the key to success. Found fish in the tite channels off the sandbars and the deeper waters held some of the larger fish. Our best was a 22 with a few 19s and 18s and lots of shorts. The downside was the heat and boat traffic so as long as we stayed in the flats and shallows, we were good to go. The bridge waters rip good and fast but sure beats sitting on the beach and thinking about fishing. Well, thats all we got for this week so get out there and get on that bait bite. Tite lines.
